Kathryn was a dynamic and influential advocate for Australian dance for many years, especially in the 1980s when a number of new companies were being established.

As Dance Officer at the Australia Council Kathryn established new opportunities for the development of artists, companies and vital infrastructure which is still in place. Kathryn was instrumental in establishing the Australia/New Zealand International Choreographers and Composers Dance Course; Dance North and Dance Works; the first Australian choreographic registry; choreographic development grants and the funding and national recognition of Ausdance.

With her outstanding skills as a manager, political advisor, arts advocate, and her service on many dance and theatre company boards, Kathryn’s legacy in Australia is immeasurable.

The 2020 Awards are grateful for the support of these sponsors and partners.
