As the National Director of the Australian Dance Council—Ausdance Inc. since the Australia Council began funding the organisation in 1985, Julie has been a leader in the development of dance in Australia.


She is a passionate advocate for dance and has initiated innovative partnerships to promote and support contemporary dance and professional dancers. Julie shares her time and expertise generously with artists, companies, teachers and students.

As member of many boards and arts organisations, Julie advises funding bodies, government departments, companies and individual artists, and has been responsible for several large-scale national projects. Julie’s other awards include the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Award for Administration (1996), the Ausdance 21 Award for outstanding service to the organisation (1998), the Australian Dance Award for Services to Dance (2000).
