Nominations for the 2017 Awards must be submiitted by midnight 28 February 2017.
Before you nominate, please read the Selection Criteria Try to say in 2–3 sentences why you think the dancer/choreography/company etc. was outstanding, exceptional, innovative etc., and therefore worthy of recognition and reward from the professional dance community.
These comments help convince the selection panel who may, or may not, have seen the performance. Please note: the number of times a work or person is nominated is not a deciding factor.
All nominees must be working in the professional dance sector.
All nominees must be making innovative and exceptional work of national significance OR making an outstanding and enduring contibution to the dance industry through their work as a teacher, writer, designer, researcher etc.
To be eligible for an award for new work (i.e. choreography, film, independent work), the piece must have premiered between 1 January and 31 December the previous year. If a work was not a premiere in this period, you can still nominate a dancer or company for an outstanding performance award.
To be eligible for a lifetime achievement or service award, nominees must have a long-standing national, and perhaps international, profile.
