You can make nominations here in all categories for professional dance works presented between 1 January and 31 December 2009.

    • This award honours the achievements of an outstanding senior figure in the Australian dance community who has dedicated at least 40 years to dance as a performer, choreographer, advocate, educator, administrator or visionary.
    • The nominee's body of work in dance should have clearly earned them national and /or international recognition.
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia.

    • The nominee's body of work should have clearly earned them broad national or international recognition.
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia.

    • The nominee's body of work should have clearly earned them a national or international reputation.
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where a part of their career may have taken place outside Australia.

    • This award honours an outstanding achievement by an individual choreographer, or choreographic team, for a particular work.
    • Nominees can be from any field of dance and in any medium (stage, film, video).
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia.

    • Nominees can be from any field of dance, eg. ballet, contemporary, music theatre, folkloric, ballroom etc.
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia.
    • Student and youth dance companies are not eligible in this category. However choreographers commissioned by non-professional companies may be nominated in the Outstanding Achievement in Choreography category.

    • This award acknowledges an outstanding achievement by an independent dance artist/s in a particular work including, but not limited to, performance, choreography, movement direction, lighting design, sound design or score.
    • Nominees may be from any areas of independent dance - eg. contemporary, experimental, installation, ballet, site specific, physical theatre, improvisation, film.
    • Nominations should be for work taking place outside a major dance company or arts organisation.
    • Nominees may be project funded, but understood to be non-recipients of long-term funding.
    • Nominees should demonstrate a standard of excellence in performance or realisation.
    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia

    • Nominees should be recognised as Australian even where they have worked extensively outside Australia.

    • 2009 was the final year of this award. ReelDance is providing an excellent forum for dance screen culture and has a biennial festival including awards.
